The Romanian Carols Concert

The Romanian Carols Concert

As the word Carol – a joyful song – suggests, carols bring us together and connect us in groups of shared experience and feelings. Every year near the Holidays, the Charity Concert of Romanian carols takes place on the Auditorium Maximum stage.

On the stage, under the baton of conductor Cornel Groza, soloists of the Romanian National Opera Cluj-Napoca, the Cappella Transylvania choir, and the Transilvania Academic Orchestra meet. The carols performed are orchestrated and processed by the composer Cristian Bence-Muk. Also, the Junior Vip Children’s Choir, conductor Anca Mona Mariaș, are performing on stage.

The carols are processed and orchestrated by Cristian Antoniu Bence-Muk, composer and professor of the „Gheorghe Dima” Music Academy. The funds obtained from the ticket sales are donated to the Christian Medical Philanthropic Association „Christiana” to help 300 disadvantaged families.

From a musical and cultural point of view, the project has evolved, in the sense of continuous accumulations, at the level of artistic performance, but also repertoire. We reached an audience of about 1000 people, and in addition to the money from the tickets we ended up having other donations.  The interest for this type of activity has grown continuously, significantly, so that today we have reached the situation of exhausting the tickets put on sale long before the date of the concert.

It is gratifying that other important cities have appeared that are interested in our production (Satu-Mare, where this year we will have a first event of its kind, but also Zalău or Bistrița). The project raises every year about 45,000 lei, accumulating so far over 300,000 lei that have been donated in social projects of the Club.

We are waiting for you to enjoy and live with us the magic of Christmas!
